Patna: CCTV footage does not corroborate the Class II student's charge of sexual assault by a sweeper, Holy Cross International School director B.K. Thakur has claimed.

"The story of molestation has been cooked up by the girl and her parents at the behest of some influential people," Thakur alleged.

He threatened to launch a hunger strike on the school premises from Monday if a CBI probe was not recommended. He said he was ready to show the camera footage.

"The video clips don't substantiate the charge levelled by the victim in the police complaint," he said. "The clips show that she had gone to the washroom around 11am while the incident, according to the victim's statement, took place around 1.30pm."

He claimed the footage shows the child was accompanied by a girl classmate to the washroom on Wednesday.

He demanded a CBI probe and threatened to commit suicide if justice was not done to him.

"My school has been dragged into a well-hatched conspiracy by some vested interests," Thakur told The Telegraph over phone. "Only the CBI can bring truth to the fore and give us justice." He accused the local police of being hand-in-glove with those conspiring to ruin him and his school. He said he had already written to the Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) requesting him to hand over the investigation to the CBI.

Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said it was not possible to recommend a CBI probe so soon. "The investigation is progressing in the right direction," he said, adding that the cops have received the director's letter.

The girl's medical examination report is awaited, said investigating officer Sandeep Kumar Singh.

"The investigation will be done without any bias and it will be entirely based on evidences," the SSP asserted.

The education department probe team that visited the school in Danapur on Friday submitted its report to department principal secretary R.K. Mahajan on Sunday, authoritative sources said.
