Patna, July 17: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi today called the central government “irresponsible and negligent” on serious issues like terrorism and black money.
Addressing a meeting of state working committee of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), held in the state capital, Modi said: “The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government neither has the strength nor willingness to fight rampant terrorism in the country.”
“Terrorism can be fought only with national unity and harmony and BJP gives top priority to unity and patriotism. The UPA government at the Centre has been highly irresponsible and careless in various strategic matters, including bringing back black money, corruption control, keeping tabs on inflation, protection of the country from internal and external threat or the repeated terror strikes on the financial capital of the country. The way senior leaders of Congress are misleading the citizens of India with their irresponsible and dubious talks on the recent serial bomb blasts in Mumbai is highly disappointing. Terrorism cannot be fought with weak willpower,” said Modi.
The deputy chief minister compared the “sushashan” in the state with the “mis-governance” at the Centre.
“Ministers at the Centre are getting caught in one scam or another and the government does not even have clear anti-corruption policies. On the other hand, the Bihar gove rnment has started a ‘crusade’ against corruption. Chief minister, ministers, officers and around four lakh employees of the state government have declared their assets and the MPLad fund has also been abolished to bring in higher level of transparency,” said Modi.
The meeting was attended by BJP state president C.P. Thakur, former party president and parliamentarian Radhamohan Singh and BJYM state president Sushil Kumar among others.
