Move over small cars, premium luxury car major Mercedes-Benz is here to woo potential buyers.

The company’s three-day programme — Star Showcase — beginning Friday is a step towards opening a showroom in Patna, which has witnessed a tremendous growth in the sales of luxurious cars in the past few years.

“Star Showcase will provide the customers and enthusiasts of Mercedes-Benz a one-of-its-kind opportunity to see, feel and experience some of the best cars from our portfolio which define luxury motoring,” said Debashis Mitra, director, sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.

Talking to reporters at Star Showcase, the company’s authorised dealer in Calcutta, Hiteshwar Singh, said: “Opening a dealership in Patna is on the company’s agenda. We will certainly open a showroom in Patna. We are organising this three-day programme at Golf Club to feel the pulse of our prospective buyers.”

The costliest among the models put on display at Star Showcase is Rs 1.2-crore S-Class Mercedes and the cheapest is Rs 38-lakh entry-level C-Class model. The company has also included its M-Class SUV, which had a nationwide launch on May 15, in the show.

Shailendra Kumar Sinha, an entrepreneur, told The Telegraph: “I am a great fan of Mercedes cars and German engineering. I am eager to see how people respond to the showcase, given the road and traffic condition in Patna. Long traffic jams can spoil the experience of luxurious cars.”
