Deepak Gupta and Tushar Anand on Thursday remembered the pranks they had played during their schooldays in Patna.

Students of the same batch — 2008 — of International School, Patna, they had come for the second alumni meet at their alma mater.

“Events like this allow us to refresh our memories about our schooldays, which were full of fun,” said Anand. “With time these memories grow faint but they are very important for us.”

Recalling such fond memories, Deepak said: “I remember our principal ma’am once cut my hair, which was longer than the permitted length. Also, my shoes must be in her office — they were removed as punishment because I had committed some prank.”

Anand is now a student of architecture at IIT-Kharagpur and Gupta is pursuing BCom from Indira College, Patna. But they claimed it was great fun to be back in school.

“No prankster was ever caught by the authorities,” Gupta reminisced. “So the whole class had to pay Rs 100 each when one of us broke a glass window.”

Mohit Khemka, another student of the batch who is now studying for a BCom at St Xavier’s College, Calcutta, said: “We cannot forget the mischievous things we used to do in school.”

He also recalled how they used to buy samosas from the school canteen. “We had to pay Rs 5 for two samosas. But each was divided into 10 pieces so that all of us could get a morsel,” said Mohit.

The alumni cell of the school, which had organised the meet, also staged cultural performances. Patna-based music band Distorted also performed.
