Gaya, Feb. 20: Officials of Medical Council of India (MCI) would visit Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College (ANMMC) from February 22 to inspect the preparations for the long-awaited postgraduate (PG) courses in eight subjects.

The Union health ministry had approved the PG courses at ANMMC in March 2010 but the MCI inspection was getting delayed because of several reasons.

ANMMC principal Sohan Prasad Chaudhary told The Telegraph that PG courses in anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, preventive and social medicine, forensic medicine and toxicology, anaesthesia, paediatrics and gynaecology would start in the college and admissions on 14 seats would be taken under these courses.

At present, undergraduate courses in 24 subjects are being taught here in which admissions are granted for 50 seats.

The schedule of MCI inspection for pathology and pharmacology has been finalised on February 22 and 23 respectively.

The schedule for other subjects would also be available shortly, said Chaudhary. Earlier, the Union government had approved 27 seats for the PG courses in 12 subjects and sanctioned Rs 8 crore for the same.
