Patna: Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday reiterated the potential of youngsters and the substantial contri-bution they can make to Bihar's economy.
"Our younger generation should become job providers instead of being job seekers. The enterprise culture is developing in the state and it can make a remarkable contribution in the development of the state," the governor said at the 5th Bihar Entrepreneurship Summit in Patna. "The younger population of the state has huge potential and can make substantial contribution to the state's economy. They need mentorship, so those who have succeeded in the industrial sector should come forward to enlighten others."
The entrepreneurship summit is an annual flagship event by the Bihar Entrepreneurs Association (BEA), a regional coalition of enterprises. The organisation had earlier partnered with the US embassy to conduct training workshop for women entrepreneurs.
This year's seminar was held under "Enterprising Bihar", aimed at popularising the business culture in Bihar. Total 900 participants had an interactive session at the daylong programme.
Emphasising on agricultural entrepreneurship, governor Malik said: "If there were a third agricultural revolution in the country it will be in Bihar. Agriculture has immense potential to become a primary source for numerous smaller industries."
He also felicitated Atul Singh, Jagjivan Singh, Prem Prakash Vidyarthi and Krishna Kumar for their entrepreneurial achievements.
BEA president Pankaj Singh said: "The objective of the summit is to provide a platform to entrepreneurs from villages and small towns to discuss about barriers in the way of initiating their own businesses."
