Rangoli And Diyas Turn The Law Hub Into A Diwali Fun Stop And Club Members Plan An Evening To Remember. T2 Finds Out Text: Shambhavi Singh Pictures: Jai Prakash Published 02.11.13, 12:00 AM

Desi touch

The girls in their traditional outfits, trendy jewellery and the right attitude gave a stiff competition to the attraction of the rangoli. Blue turned out to be the hot colour for the evening. t2 spotted at least two girls in blue, one in an Anarkali and another in a chiffon sari. Every girl on campus posed for the shutterbugs and left the boys spellbound. They were not to be left behind on the style-meter though. The boys cleaned up good and came out in crisp kurtas and Kolhapuris.

Lions share of fun

Members of Lions Club Patliputra had a pre-Diwali bash at the residence of one of their members. Diyas, karaoke and cricket came together to make a night to remember. Hosts Manisha and Amulya decorated their roof with colourful matkis and put up a big screen to watch Team India vanquish the Aussies in Nagpur.

The hostess in her Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani-inspired sari was the talk of the night.

Bash at CNLU

The girls and boys of Chanakya National Law University joined hands to make a huge rangoli on campus. Diyas lit up the bright design, as the students ensured it remained the point of attraction.

Let us jive

Lungi dance, lungi dance... matched the evening's mood perfectly. The students reliving the signature steps of SRK and Deepika meant the song had to played at least thrice. Every popular dance number from the 1980s to 2013 made it to the list. Ram-Leela's Tattad Tattad was another favourite.

“The steps are quite easy and it was real fun to dance in a group,” said Shubham.

Eco fun

The club avoided crackers that hurt the environment. Amulya said: “Celebrating festivals the traditional way is fun. Following traditions, we have not used any sound-producing crackers. We made it large with friends, traditional music and food.”

The women surely made it large, playing Housie and tons of gossip.

Kiddie bunch

Akriti, the couple’s daughter, also ensured her friends had fun and took them with her to light the diyas.
