Patna: A three-member team of the district education department is likely to submit its report soon to the district education officer on the murder of six-year-old lower KG student Abhimanyu, whose body was recovered from his hostel room in Fatuha last Monday.

The members of the probe team headed by district programme officer Vibha Kumari visited the Sephali International Residential School to inquire into the incident, but the school was closed. The members of the team somehow managed to enter the premises and visited the classrooms.

"The office of the school was closed. A big lock was hanging at the entrance gate of the school. While the main office was closed, classrooms were found to be open. There was no staff to brief us about the incident, which took place around a week ago," said a member of the team.

The member, who spoke under cover of anonymity, said that they would submit their report to district education officer Jyoti Kumar on Monday. The members of the visiting team also spoke to neighbours and some local residents and inquired about the activities going on in the institution since its inception.

The Fatuha police, meanwhile, have failed to arrest the two main suspects, Akhilesh alias Pappu, and Lucky Singh, who are absconding after the incident. Pappu was deputed as watchman of the school-cum-hostel. He was last seen on the school premises on Monday when the police had reached the school to recover the body.

Pappu is said to have had a relationship with a Class VIII student, who has been taken into custody for killing Abhimanyu. Lucky, son of the owner of the house rented out to the school to run its hostel, and his associate were also wanted by the police.

Patna superintendent of police (rural) Anand Kumar said raids were on to nab the watchman and other suspects.
