Smoking: My driver used to smoke a lot. Last year, I threw away his pack of cigarettes. Initially, he got angry. However, when I explained to him the consequences, he quit the habit.
Cleanliness: My elder sister used to paint and leave bottles and paintbrushes lying around. My brother tripped on one of the bottles once. I told her that if she kept things in such a manner, someone could also trip and break his or her bones. Now, she doesn't do it anymore.

Lessons: Energy conservation and no to polybags and crackers
Help in real life
Energy conservation: We were taught in school to conserve energy in all its forms. We launched a mission, which the school supported — all the bulbs in our school were replaced with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). When we moved to our new house, we installed a solar water heater. This saves a significant amount of energy.
No to polybags and crackers: Our school emphasises on preventing use of polybags and crackers. My friends and me made paper bags from newspapers and distributed it among shopkeepers in our locality. During Diwali, we tried not to burst crackers and encouraged others to desist from doing it.
