Chief minister Nitish Kumar offers floral tributes at the statue of socialist leader Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on his 105th birth anniversary at Lohia Udyan at Kankerbagh in Patna on Monday. At the state function, the chief minister arrived along with his cabinet colleagues, legislators and social workers.Those present on the occasion were food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak, former minister Bhola Prasad Singh, JDU MP Ramnath Thakur and MLC Sanjay Singh apart from social workers and prominent citizens.Tributes were paid to the great socialist leader across the state by organising functions. Artistes of information and public relations department also rendered patriotic songs on the occasion.In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik remembered Lohia as an "architect of opposition unity"."Lohia was a multi-faceted personality. I have a long association with him, he had contested the by-election from Goregaon Mumbai in 1963. He had the special capability of taking the opposition along," Naik said.
