Patna, Feb. 22: Part II students of the bachelor of business administration (BBA) department of Magadh Mahila College today played perfect hosts to their seniors, who are set to leave college in a few days.
It was a blend of culture and modern trends as the juniors performed to bid the Part III students a farewell.
Organised by the Part II students, the event saw a cultural programme that was taken part by the first- and second-year students. Even the final-year students chipped in with their performances. Thirteen final-year students took part in a ramp walk, comprising three rounds — introduction, talent and question and answer round. The faculty of the BBA department of the college judged the ramp walk. Course co-ordinator Meera Verma was also present on the occasion.
All 60 students of the outgoing batch, who attended the programme, were visibly happy at the “warm reception” that they received from their juniors. Some of them also got emotional and recollected all memorable moments they had spent in their college days.
Meghna Gupta, a BBA Part III student who took part in the ramp show, went back to her initial days in the college during the introduction event. “Anchoring regularly in different college programmes gave a huge boost to my confidence. In my school life, I never anchored a single programme. But after here, I got several opportunities, especially in the cultural programmes. Today, I am no longer stage conscious because of this. This college is really close to my heart.”
Barkha Dutta, another student from the outgoing batch, said she and her group of friends were popular for all their mischief. “My friends, Vandana Sinha, Swarnika Priya and Kumari Shreya, have been engaged in a lot of mischievous activities. We used to play pranks and we are known by the name of ‘Gunda group’,” she said.
Shanu, another final-year, student, and her friends sang a song, Purani Jeans, for the students and the teachers at the end of the programme. “It was a surprise performance,” she told The Telegraph.
The teachers also had a mixed feeling on the occasion.
Meera Verma said: “This is not only a special day for the students of the outgoing batch, but is also an important day for the faculty. All of us had a very strong bonding with the students. We will miss them a lot.”
Earlier, students of Parts I and II tapped their feet to several dance number. A lot of energy was also visible during the musical chair round.
