Patna, May 12: RJD chief Lalu Prasad today described chief minister Nitish Kumar’s consistent demand for a special status for Bihar as a “dhong (deception)”.

“It is a ploy to keep public attention away from his own failures,” Lalu said, while addressing a meeting of party workers and leaders at 10 Circular Road. He had called the meeting to work out a strategy to launch an intense agitation against the Nitish government.

The RJD chief, who had stayed in Delhi for a few months after his rout in the last Assembly election, swore that Nitish would not miss him any longer, as he would “expose the failures of the government”.

Lalu also ridiculed Nitish’s Seva Yatra saying the latter was campaigning for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. He declared a number of programmes for party workers, including dera dalo, ghera dalo, jail bharo andolan and a yatra from Motihari to Gaya via Vaishali — the area having a strong support of the NDA. He said the dates of the programmes would be announced later.

Lalu also recounted the mistakes made during his 15-year regime. He said some sections of society were not happy with his regime and if he came to power again he would ensure that the mistakes were not repeated. Former chief minister Rabri Devi also addressed the meet.
