Children’s Day is over but little fans of Hrithik Roshan got a pleasant surprise at Regent on Sunday afternoon.
Around 300 kids, who had turned up for the matinee date with the superhero along with their parents, had just taken their seats when employees of the cinema started distributing free Krrish 3 badges and mugs among them.
With a squeal of delight, the kids grabbed the freebies.
Anushka of St Joseph’s High School said: “I love Krrish, he is my favourite superhero. I never thought that I would get such a gift while watching the movie. The badge is beautiful. I would take this to school and show it to my friends.”
Even parents looked excited. They did not mind asking for badges and mugs for their sons and daughters.
A boy from Kidzee, Sameer Jaiswal, looked bewildered but then excitedly said: “Both the Krrish badge and mug are very good. I will take them home. I will not give them to anyone.”
Some parents clicked pictures of their kids on their cellphones. Even youths started asking for the freebies but the cinema management told them that those were only for kids. The children promptly pinned the badges on their chests and held the mugs high in the air.
Appreciating the initiative, the parents said it was a good practice to win the children’s hearts. “My son is telling me that he wants to watch the movie once again so that he gets one more badge and mug,” said Vaibhav Kumar, a resident of Kankerbagh.
Before Krrish 3, the Regent management had distributed The Wolverine mug and T-shirts on its release day on July 26. For SRK’s Don 2, it had distributed free masks of King Khan.
Distributing the freebies, Regent proprietor Suman Kumar Sinha told a kid in a lighter vein: “Take this, it’s all for you and if you want to become strong like Krrish, then better drink milk from this mug.”
Revealing the reason behind distributing the freebies, Sinha said: “Krrish has become an inspiration for children and we have been doing such things for quite some time. Whenever superhero films release, I always try to gift something to the children so that they can relate to them. It makes me happy when I see smiling faces. Business is not only about earning money. For me, one part of the business must go to charity. That’s why I enjoy doing such things.”
