It would be in the form of photo frames and would provide information about entire Patna in just a few glimpses. Danapur division under ECR has taken the initiative and would display around 150 rare photographs of Patna City at Patna Junction, including many photographs of the railways related to ECR and the Indian Railways.

Through the photographs, ECR will try to inform passengers at Patna Junction about the city and its rich heritage.

Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Ranjan Prakash Thakur said: "Within a month, we will put up around 150 photographs related to Patna at Patna Junction. The photos will talk about the rich culture and heritage of Patna and also the historical sites around the city."

Photographs that would be up in at platform No. 1 of Patna Junction includes important landmarks, institutions and aristocratic buildings like Mariam Manzil (Anisabad), Sultan Palace (Transport Bhavan) and Quila House.

Thakur said: "We are already taking many steps to renovate the Patna Junction apart from painting the outer area of Patna Junction from Mithila paintings. This will add to the attraction. The idea is to make people aware about the true history of the city. The photographs of heritage steam engine installed at Patna Junction, DRM office Danapur will also be put on display."

The photographs of the Indian Railways coming to Patna in 1861 would also be there apart from the present Patna Saheb which was the oldest station of Patna.

It would also inform how Danapur railway station became the headquarters of the then Company of East Indian Railway Volunteers. It would also have photographs of Koilwar railway bridge which was opened in 1863 in Ara.

Thakur said one more thing which will attract passengers coming to Patna Junction includes the Selfie Point which would be created at Patna Junction, most probably at platform No. 1.

"There is trend of taking selfies among the youths and we will give them a platform where they can make their selfies memorable. The theme would be railway but we haven't yet decided about the background. Apart from this we are also trying to create our own jingle which will be played between the public announcements," Thakur said.
