District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh and city superintendent of police Kim (extreme left) flag off Lions Club Patna Favourite family car rally at Coco pump of Bharat Petroleum on Dakbungalow Road on Sunday. Forty-five teams took part in the rally, which ended at Maner. The teams were divided into three categories — general, couples and women. The president of the club, Sumita Sahi, said: “The main focus of this event is to inculcate good driving habits among the participants. We also want to encourage them to honk less on the city roads.” The rally was oganised in the format of a treasure hunt. The participants were given clues at different points, including six in Patna. Lions Club Patna Favourite secretary Ranu Saxena said the club organises several such events to raise funds for social service projects. The participants were not allowed to exceed speed more than 40kmph and they had to cover a distance of 65km. Magadh Motor Sports provided technical support to the event.
