Police claimed to have arrested Raju Khan, one of the main accused in the December 14 murder of four fishermen at Brahmapura village under Khirimore police station.

Four men, belonging to the Scheduled Caste community, were gunned down by a gang after they refused to give them their catch in the river. While four died on the spot, one of them was successful in fleeing. Patna senior superintendent of police Jitender Rana said raid was on to arrest others involved in the incident.

In another case, the police arrested four government schoolteachers who used to take money from Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) candidates with job promise. The four - Dharmendra Kumar, Ravindra Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Guru Kumar - were nabbed from a hotel on Exhibition Road. Patna superintendent of police (central) Shivdeep Lande said Rs 3 lakh in cash had been recovered from them. The police said the four used to take money ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh from them promising success.
