Patna: The BJP wants to send him behind bars but that will not deter him, RJD chief Lalu Prasad said on Sunday.

"I know the BJP wants to send me to jail and conduct elections in my absence. I dare the BJP to send me to jail. The more you attack me the more the more the voters will embrace Lalu. Even if I go to jail, I will stay like a king there," Lalu said.

When he was in Ranchi jail for the fodder scam, he used to get lavish treatment over there, from getting fruits to sweets that he used to distribute among poor tribal prisoners, the RJD chief said.

He accused the Centre of misusing the central investigative agencies against those who talk about the rights of the poor.

"If a case is filed against my son why are the ED and CBI not filing a case against Amit Shah's son whose firm's turnover business jumped 16,000 times in a year?" Lalu asked.

He criticised the media for "only" targeting the Opposition.

He also took a jab at the JDU and the BJP for raising questions over his son Tejashwi Yadav having lunch with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi: "They are afraid that two young and energetic leaders have come together and now the countdown of the saffron party has begun."
