Class XI

Shivam Convent

Team: Pune Warriors India

X-Factors: Dada and Uthappa

“It is a matter of pride as an Indian that the biggest domestic T20 cricket tournament is held in our country. Among so many big teams, my favourite is the latest entrant, Pune Warriors India, led by the legendary Sourav Ganguly. He has led the Indian cricket team for so many years, and is considered one of the country’s most successful captains. Robin Uthappa is another player to watch out for. The team has a fair mix of youth and experience and it has started well this year. Time will prove how far the underdogs, led by Dada, can go this year.”

Siddharth Kishore

Class XII

Shivam Convent

Team: Chennai Super Kings

X-Factors: Cool Dhoni

“Without a shade of doubt, my favourite team is the Chennai Super Kings. Besides being the most successful team in the IPL by winning back-to-back editions in 2010 and 2011, the team is led by our captain cool, M.S. Dhoni. The team also has the likes of Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, who can turn around any game in the team’s favour. There is no question of choosing another team. CSK is the best.”

Arpit Asim

Class VIII

Loyola High School

Team: Mumbai Indians

X-Factor: Sachin is enough

“Any team which has Sachin Tendulkar has to be the best. His sheer presence boosts the winning chances of a team. Since Sachin is playing for Mumbai Indians, it’s my favourite team. Apart from the presence of the Master Blaster, I think the team is very balanced. It has very good bowlers, good batsmen and brilliant fielders, taking care of all departments of the game. I will be glued to the TV set to see Harbhajan bowl, Malinga deliver his toe-breaking yorkers and Kieron Pollard smash the bowlers out of the park.”

Surbhi Singh

Class XII

Baldwin Academy

Team: Kolkata Knight Riders

X-Factor: The Don

“I am a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan, aka SRK. He is the star of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Even though he does not play for the team, his presence in the stadium or the dressing room does the trick. The team has not been doing too well, but in the last edition, it did show signs of improvement. This year, the team has Brett Lee, Brendon McCullum, Yusuf Pathan and captain Gautam Gambhir. So let the Knights unleash themselves and perform to their slogan, Korbo Lorbo Jitbo Re...”

Manish Kumar

Class XII

Patna Muslim High School

Team: Rajasthan Royals

X-Factor: The Wall

“They started as the underdogs and shocked everyone by becoming the champions in the very first edition in 2008. I was so impressed that I became a fan of the team. Yes, they have not won again, but the names associated with them over the years are solid cricket players. Earlier, it was the legendary leg spinner Shane Warne and now it is Rahul Dravid, the mentor of so many Indian victories. This year, I have put my money on the Royals. May Dravid anchor them to another 2008-like magic.”

Last week’s question:

Identify this famous character from a children’s film

Answer: Matilda

There were no correct answers this week. Mara Wilson played Matilda Wormwood in the 1996 film by the same name.

Based on Matilda, the novel written by Roald Dahl, the film traces how a girl with magical powers teaches her principal — Miss Trunchbull — a lesson. Miss Trunchbull terrorises students at Crunchem Hall Elementary School. Matilda bonds with her teacher Miss Honey to play her tricks on the strict principal.

This week’s question:

Identify this new stadium.

Clue: It is the home ground of Pune Warriors India.
