Patna, Jan. 7: Anand Kumar, mathematician and founder of Super 30, has been selected as one of the role models to address the youths who are part of Tata Jagriti Yatra 2010.

The Yatra has been organised by Uttar Pradesh-based Jagriti Sewa Sansthan and Tata Sons, a company of the Tata Group, which aims to introduce the participants to unsung heroes of India for awakening the entrepreneurial spirit. Under the yatra, a group of youths from India, Spain, Peru, UK, USA, Switzerland, Nepal, Germany and Australia are being taken on a nationwide journey by train and would be brought face to face with innovators and institutions that have made a difference.

This time, the yatra began from Mumbai on December 24 and it would pass through various places. It stops for a day or two at earmarked places, where role models address them. Anand will address youths on January 10 at Mithapur in Gujarat to inspire them to reach new heights.

Reacting to his selection for addressing youths and motivate them, Anand said: “I learn a lot in such interactions as one comes across people with fresh ideas. And being invited to address the Jagriti Yatra is of special importance as it represents a social movement which intends to take development to the grassroots.”

It is not that Anand would be playing the role of motivator for the first time, he has donned the role in the past on many occasions.

He was earlier invited by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to speak at a conference themed “Making the Difference” held at Coimbatore.

In December last year, he was invited to speak about his inspiring journey at the INK Conference, organised by American TED.

He has also delivered speeches at IIM, Ahmedabad, as well as in Abu Dhabi to share his experiences with the people.
