Patna: Three kilograms of buffalo milk, 250g of pasted cashew nuts, raisin and pistachios - the special daily diet for the less famous namesakes of Bollywood heartthrobs Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will put bodybuilders to shame.

But these Salman and Shah Rukh are no ordinary goats. They weigh around 2 quintals (200kg) each. Their master, Shamsher Qureshi, takes pride in claiming that he spends around Rs 3,000 daily on both apart from never allowing them to rest on the floor. Rather, he took special care by providing them wooden platforms to sleep on to keep them free of sore joint problems.

Shamsher has brought his pair of specially bred goats from Balliah district of Uttar Pradesh. "Both Salman and Shah Rukh are up for sale for this year's Bakrid celebrations at Rs 11 lakh each," said Qureshi, their proud owner and one of the sellers at the Bakri Bazaar (goat market) near Jagdeo Path in Patna.

The Bakri Bazaar is buzzing with Muslims heading towards the market to buy goats of their choice for the rituals of qurbani (sacrifice), which is observed on Bakrid, which falls on Wednesday this year.

Qureshi justified the price he was asking because his wards were much stronger and beautiful than other goats in the market. "No human can lift them alone, they are so strong and heavy. Three to four people will be required even to sacrifice each of them," he said.

Shadab Alam, a buyer from Sabzibagh, said: "Elite people prefer to buy the costliest goats available on Bakrid. Others buy goats according to their means."
