Human touch to save animals

Students displayed their artistic skills and focused on the safety of animals the past week. Some recycled waste, while others enacted stories from the Panchatantra to raise awareness. Smita Kumar catches the action

Event: Installation art

Duration: Around two hours

Special attraction: The Class VII students exhibited installation art skills. The Parents Teachers’ Association organised the event on the school premises. Former president of the association, Amitabh Pandey, trained the young ones. The training emphasised on using waste material to make useful things. The girls were divided into different groups. While one group came up with the theme of a pollution-free world, another used polythene to spread ecological awareness. Glass, paper napkins polythene and other items were used.

Event: World Animal Day

Duration: A few hours

Special attraction: The tiny tots of the Montessori section displayed their enthusiasm by wearing headgear of various animals. World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare. They also focused on the safety of animals such as zebra, giraffe, goat. The students enacted stories from the Panchtantra. The tales are used to teach values. The Panchatantra, an ancient Indian collection of inter-related animal fables in verse and prose, are arranged within a story frame.
