Patna: Patna central range deputy inspector-general (DIG) of police Rajesh Kumar has ordered a detailed probe in connection with a Bazar Samiti resident whose house some criminals forcefully grabbed.

The DIG ordered the probe after Ajay Khatri, a resident of Bazar Samiti area, approached him on Monday to complain that some criminals had entered his house and occupied the entire building with the help of local police.

"Ajay Khatri and his wife approached me on Monday to say their house had been forcefully grabbed by some criminals and he was left homeless," DIG Rajesh Kumar said. "Prima facie, it appears that the complaint is genuine, I have ordered a probe and asked local police to submit the report on Monday."

Khatri owns a three-storeyed building in Bazar Samiti area under Bahadurpur police station and some criminals with help of local police had grabbed his house. The police have also implicated him in a false case. Talking to The Telegraph, Ajay said: "On April 9, some criminals and some personnel of Bahadurpur police station entered my house and after implicating false cases against me, evicted me and my family." Ajay claimed he and his wife Archana Khatri were sent to jail for five days on the instructions of Sudhanshu Shekhar, an officer from Bahadurpur police station.

Ajay, his wife Archana and elderly mother were left with no alternative than to stay at relative's houses. Ajay, a drug trader, claimed he had had to knock on the door of several police officers for justice.

According to Ajay, he purchased a plot in Bazar Samiti area in 2011 and construction began in 2015. "Some criminals had then demanded ransom claiming the land belonged to them," Ajay said. "I approached chief minister Nitish Kumar at his janata durbar where he ordered a probe. On his instructions, then sub-divisional officer conducted a probe and concluded that Ajay Khatri is the owner of the plot." But in April this year, criminals entered the house and evicted entire family.

Ajay claimed he was not receiving cooperation from police despite having records such as housing loan from bank, municipal tax receipt and electricity power bills.

In another development, DIG Rajesh Kumar has issue an order to shift notorious criminal Ritlal Yadav from Beur Central Jail to Bhagalpur Central Jail. The DIG has ordered shifting of over 100 criminals languishing in Patna and Nalanda district jails to other district jails. The DIG issue the order after Patna police received complaints that dreaded criminals were making extortion calls from the jails.
