Patna: Patna College students are unlikely to get rooms at Minto and Jackson hostels as the college administration is yet to get possession of hostels from the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BSEIDCL) carrying out renovation work of the two hostels.
The renovation work is on since 2013. Sources said renovation is complete but the condition of the hostels is not the same as it was at the time of handing it over BSEIDCL before renovation work started.
Patna College hostel superintendent Randhir Kumar Singh said: "Four years back when we handed over the hostels to BSEIDCL there were beds, study tables, chairs, study lamp and cupboard in all rooms, but after the renovation these are missing."
He added: "We have informed BSEIDCL about the missing things from the rooms. But no action has been taken."
The hostel superintendent said in absence of these essential items, how can a boarder live in rooms where there is no bed, chair, table and other equipment.
Singh said: "Hostel rooms can be allotted to boarders only if the BSEIDCL provides the missing items from rooms or if the college arranges new beds, chairs and tables at hostel rooms."
BSEIDC managing director Sanjay Kumar Singh, however, did not respond to phone calls.
