Honour for KV principal

Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kankerbagh, R.K. Sinha would be honoured for excellence in the field of education.

The KVS National Incentive Award, 2012, would be bestowed on Sinha, 53, by Union human resource development minister Kapil Sibal at Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Auditorium, Kendriya Vidyalaya 2, Delhi Cantonment on November 17. Sibal is the chairman of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Sinha is among four principals from across India whose works have been recognised, the others being V. Gowri of Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket, Secunderabad, C. Mishra of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Jammu and S.K. Behura of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bhubaneswar.

Under Sinha, the Class XII results, which witnessed a success rate of 87.46 per cent in 2008, saw 97.67 per cent success in 2009. In 2010, the rate stood at 96.4 per cent. In 2011 and 2012, the rates were 98.6 and 100 per cent, respectively. In 2010, only four students of Class X scored 10 CGPA. The numbers went up to 35 and 41 in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Sinha also won the Regional Incentive Award in KVS, Patna region, for his work in the field of education and another appreciation award for social service by the Bharat Scouts and Guides in 2010.

Sinha was among nine principals from India to be invited by Max Mueller Bhavan and sponsored by Goethe Institut to be in Germany from October 1 to 6.

Sinha said: “In Germany, I found every classroom to be complete. Not only audio-visual facilities, the classes had shelves and toys.”

Dr N.K. Malviya, a postgraduate mathematics teacher of the same school, would also be awarded for excellence in education on the occasion.
