Darbhanga, Dec. 6: Child specialist and associate professor of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital Dr Nagendra Prasad Gupta has been honoured by the South Asia Regional World Organisation of National Colleges and Academies (WONCA) in a conference, organised by the General Practitioner Association of Nepal at Kathmandu from December 2 to 4.
Dr Gupta had presented a paper in the seminar at Kathmandu in which doctor representatives of 50 countries had taken part and Dr Gupta was the only representative from Bihar. His paper was ‘Breath holding spells’ of children aged between one and six.
years. He read the paper at the seminar. He said the sudden stopping of breath, loss of consciousness and change of body postures are not a dangerous thing for the child as the child recovers within a short period.
GPAN president Pratap Narayan Shreshth (Nepal) and WONCA regional president Prithi Vijegunnewardan (Lanka) jointly gave an appreciation letter to Dr Gupta for his research paper.
