Patna, July 1: The high court today appointed a government advocate to visit the remand home at Gaighat in the state capital and submit a report on its condition. A division bench of Justice P.C. Verma and Justice A.K. Trivedi passed the order while hearing a suo motu petition with regard to improving the condition of the remand homes.

The court has entrusted the job of inspection of the remand home at Gaighat to advocate Nivedita Nirvikar. She would submit her report on the prevailing condition of the home on July 6, the next date of hearing. The remand homes, even the one in Patna lack basic infrastructure.
