All India Ophthalmological Society president Anita Panda inaugurates a 3D spectral all-in-one optical coherence tomography machine at CSN Eye Hospital, Kankerbagh Colony on Sunday. Panda inaugurated another machine — high-speed retina vitrectomy unit. The machines are useful in the treatment of retina and glaucoma problems. “These machines can revolutionise the treatment of retina and glaucoma diseases,” Panda said. Shivendra Sahay, the director of CSN Eye Hospital, said the 3D spectral all-in-one optical coherence tomography machine is more efficient than its 2D counterpart. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, president, state chapter of Indian Medical Association, said: “The CSN Eye Hospital treats patients from economically weak background on the recommendation of IMA. We hope it will continue with its humanitarian service.” Text by Shuchismita Chakraborty, picture by Deepak Kumar |
