Patna, Oct. 26: AIIMS-Patna would start operating two ambulances with life-saving equipment and form a medical response team to tackle emergencies.

The vehicles, expected to reach the health hub within a week, would also be linked to the Sankat Sanket technology. In an emergency, one would be able to use the app to send an SOS to the hospital and avail of the best medical help.

The medical college-cum-hospital would also form a 24x7 Quick Medical Response Team to cater to any kind of emergency, AIIMS-Patna director G.K. Singh said today. “The Sankat Sanket application, announced in July, can be used on an android-enabled cellphone. “If anyone has an android phone, the app can be downloaded and used. AIIMS-Patna is thinking of extending the service to different agencies like police, disaster management, fire services and others. One has to type http://sankatsanket.helponcloud.com on the phone and download the app. Once it’s done, an icon will appear on the phone and the service would be ready to use,” he said. He, however, said the technology would be put on pilot testing before being started officially.

He added: “AIIMS-Patna would receive two state-of-the-art ambulances within the next week.”

The official said the ambulances would start services immediately. “The ambulances will have internet-enabled laptops to help the medical team know about anyone using the technology. AIIMS will also start the response team service very soon. The crisis can range from medical emergencies to physical danger. If the police system is linked to the service, it will be of great help,” Singh said.
