Patna, Sept. 15: The Bihar government today tried to find a way to the hearts of some top industrialists of the country through their stomachs and convince them to invest in the state.
Lip-smacking delicacies were served to the guests at the first meeting of the Bihar State Industrial Investment and Advisory Council.
The food menu for industry honchos like Infosys chairperson K.V. Kamath, HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh and Vedanta executive chairman Anil Agarwal comprised a blend of Indian and Arabic dishes. Of course, there was Bihar’s own litti with aloo and baigan chokha, bihiya poori subji and bachka tillori. Beetroot lassi and pineapple rasam gave a different dimension to the list of welcome drinks like fresh lime soda (sweet and salted), coconut water, pomegranate and sweet lime juices. Next on the list were appetisers like shrimp cocktail and fruit cocktail.
The representatives of hotel Maurya, organising the lunch, told The Telegraph: “Soups like bhua makai shorba, murg badami zafrani shorba with bread rolls and butter will lead to the main course.
The course comprises Arabian grilled fish, Arabian grilled cottage cheese, lettuce and olive salad and sautee vegetables, Mutton galawat ke kebab on khasta paratha and mushroom galawat ke kebab on khasta paratha.”
“Apart from the Bihari cuisine, there were murg khase awadh, paneer sashlik in gravy, bhindi kurkure, kadhi badi, laal saag with red chana, fried arbi patta subji, plain rice, dal makhani, plain curd and a choice of tandoori rotis, Malabar paratha and missi roti,” he said.
For desserts, gur sandesh, dalia kheer, coconut souffle, baked silaw ka khaja, thin kesaria jalebi with rabri and custard apple ice cream were on the platter.
A state government representative said: “We need to give them a good and ever-lasting impression. They are guests of the state and it is our duty to treat them well. About investments, we hope for that too.”
