Funds for librarians

The state cabinet on Friday sanctioned Rs 4.14 crore for the payment of salaries and arrears to the librarians of secondary schools.

The decision would benefit 1,601 librarians of secondary schools under the jurisdiction of district board and urban local bodies of the state, cabinet secretariat department principal secretary Brajesh Mehrotra said. He said funds had been released for the payment of salaries and arrears of the financial year 2013-14.

The cabinet sanctioned around Rs 2,630 crore for widening 824.22km of state highways so that there are two lanes, Mehrotra said, adding upgrade of existing roads would also be carried out with the funds. Rs 1,117.58 crore would be spent for widening the state highway connecting Bihta-Naubatpur-Dumri-Beldarichak-Kansari-Daniyawan-Chandi-Rahui-Sarmera.

The cabinet approved Rs 6 crore as establishment and other expenses for Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna.
