Patna, Oct. 30: Shah Rukh Khan may be flying high in his superhero avatar but Bihar boy Chirag Paswan is set to throw down the gauntlet to G.One.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s son will be in the city tomorrow to promote his maiden film, Miley Naa Miley Hum. Co-stars Kangana Ranaut, Neeru Bajwa and Sagarika Ghatge will accompany him. The venue for the promotional event is Mauryalok Complex in the heart of the city. The film’s producer, Anup Saxena, will also be present.
A senior member of the party told The Telegraph: “Chirag is not worried about the buzz around Ra.One. Each film has its strong points. We hope Chirag’s debut film will do well. We are very excited about it.”
As a manifestation of their excitement, party workers have started to decorate the state capital with posters of the film and erect welcome gates for Chirag and company. Sources said the party office and Paswan’s home were abuzz with discussions on the film’s promotional.
“The arrangements for the event at Mauryalok Complex are in final stage now,” said the party leader. “The event will be very interesting.”
He added that Paswan’s son-in-law Mrinal is in charge of the preparations.
Sources said the LJP chief, plagued with political difficulties, had been unable to go the full length to ensure that his son’s film is a blockbuster. The latest shock to the fortunes of the party came in the form of MP Sabir Ali bidding it adieu and joining the JD(U). Paswan is now the lone MP from the LJP.
Paswan will be present at the promotional event, though. He has been praising his son’s efforts to carve out a niche on the silver screen.
In an interaction with The Telegraph earlier, he had said: “I am sure the film will be a success. The songs of the film are very good. The item number featuring Shweta Tiwari will also be very popular.”
The senior politician had said Chirag’s expressions and acting skills were no less than that of a superstar.
He had also said: “A senior film critic recently told me that the songs were very popular.”
Directed by Tanveer Khan, the film’s music has been composed by Sajid-Wajid. The movie will release on November 4.
Earlier titled Fifty-fifty, the completion of the film took a long time because of date problems of the lead actress.
