Patna: Two youths were arrested on Sunday for robbing a Khajpura resident of his iPhone for which he had posted an ad on an online classifieds site.
Yash, a resident of Shiv Mandir lane, listed his Apple handset for sale on the site last month. He mentioned the features and quoted Rs 30,000 for it.
A few days later, he received a call from a youth interested to buy the iPhone.
He called Yash near Mahabir Temple in the Kotwali police station area on November 12 for the transaction.
But once the seller reached, he found two youths - Suraj and Rahul - who snatched the phone, beat up Yash and ran off without paying.
Ram Shankar Singh, the Kotwali police station house officer, said: "The deal struck was Yash had to meet the 'buyers' at a lane near Mahabir Temple. The two youths not only robbed him but also thrashed him."
In spite of several calls to retrieve his phone, Yash did not receive any reply. On November 25, the duo - in their 20s and residents of Kankerbagh - again called Yash to Mahabir Temple lane to return the phone if he promised not to involve the cops.
This time, the duo also robbed Yash of Rs 20,000.
Yash finally lodged a complaint at Kotwali police station and the cops laid a trap to arrest Suraj and Rahul. The duo were called to the same spot and arrested.
Ram Shankar Singh said: "The two youths have been arrested. The police have recovered six phones from their possession."
