Patna, Dec. 20: When Don 2 releases on Friday, hundreds of Shah Rukh Khan look-alike would throng Regent. For, the theatre would distribute masks of SRK’s looks in the film free of cost.

The theatre has ordered 50,000 of them. Experts in Mumbai have made them.

“There is always an excitement among the audience to watch him essay a dark role. So we came up with the idea of distributing a mask of King Khan’s look in the movie,” said Suman Kumar Sinha, the owner of Regent.

When asked about the mask, he said: “We had

contacted a group of eight designers, specialising in movie merchandise, in Mumbai. Even I am excited thinking about the day when the audience would wear the masks. It would be a different feeling altogether.”

He added: “A ticket for the 2D version of Don 2 will cost Rs 220 and those for the 3D version will be priced at Rs 250. The theatre will also serve coffee in the morning and last show for free,” Suman added.

According to sources, 15 shows of Don 2 would be screened every day in the city in two theatres — five in Regent and 10 in Cinepolis.

People are booking tickets in advance at both the theatres. “Most of the shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are booked. We have over 100 tickets left for the matinee show. Many have booked tickets online as well,” said Suman. The tickets are a tad more expensive at Cinepolis. “A ticket for a 2D show has been priced at Rs 250 and that for the 3D version costs Rs 280. Shah Rukh’s films are costlier compared to others but the audience does not mind shelling out a bit extra to watch him on the silver screen,” said Abhishek Ranjan, the manager of Cinepolis.

Asked about the number of tickets booked in advance, the manager said: “We are running 10 shows of Don 2, but even then bookings have been very good. Most shows on Friday are booked in advance and there is a possibility that Saturday and Sunday shows, too, would run to packed houses.”

While booking an advance ticket at Regent, Lodhipur resident Vineet Saxena said: “Shah Rukh is looking handsome. Wearing the mask would be fun.”

Star visit

The district administration has been informed about Shah Rukh Khan’s visit to the city on December 22. “The official letter was sent to me through fax last night by Reliance Entertainment. It requested the administration to provide security for Shah Rukh, who will visit the capital to promote his film Don 2,” said Patna district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh.
