Patna: Doctors associated with the Muzaffarpur branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) on Sunday deferred their decision of calling a strike following an attack on orthopaedic surgeon Dr Manibhushan at his hospital on Saturday morning by a mob of around 200 people.
Sources said the patient's attendants ransacked the hospital first and then went on to attack Manibhushan in which he suffered multiple injuries all over his limbs and multiple fractures over the right femur.
"The Muzaffarpur IMA and BHSA have decided not to go on strike as of now because police has arrested eight persons. We have been assured that justice would be provided to the doctor concerned in this case. We would again review the developments of this case after three days and then we would take a final call on the strike," said secretary of Muzaffarpur branch of BHSA and also an IMA member, Dr C.K. Das.
