Patna: District magistrate Kumar Ravi on Friday convened a meeting with officials concerned over the transit visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 10.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Motihari to take part in the centenary year celebration of Champaran Satyagraha, however, he will make a transit visit at Patna airport.
"The Prime Minister will land at Patna airport at 10am, take a helicopter to Motihari and will return to Patna and take a flight to Delhi at 2.02pm. It would be a transit visit before leaving for Motihari and back," Ravi said, while holding a high-level meeting with senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manu Mahaaraj and superintendent of police (SP) (east) Vishal Sharma apart from other officials.
He instructed the SP traffic to make travel arrangements from Patna airport to Raj Bhavan and ensure the route remains clear when the PM visits Patna. The instruction was given in view of Governor Satya Pal Malik and chief minister Nitish Kumar welcoming the Prime Minister at the airport.
Ravi asked senior officers of Patna police to ensure that all arrangements are done according to the provisions specified in Special Protection Group (SPG) bluebook, which lays down security guidelines for the protection of the Prime Minister. The DM asked civil surgeon-cum-chief medical officer Pramod Jha to make arrangements to deal with emergency as per provisions.
He asked the food inspector to check the food which would be given to the Prime Minister and issue a certificate for it. "Special passes and identity cards would be issued to officials, VIPs and other officers entering the hangar by city superintendent of police (Central) D. Amarkesh," Ravi said.
