Patna: The district administration on Friday attached houses and land of four persons from where liquor had been found.

"These places are those from where liquor was seized, and today the properties have been attached and they belong to the government now," said Patna district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal.

"These houses or godowns are now the property of state government and they would be used as per the requirement. However, as per the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, we will open government schools there," he added.

Of the four properties, one is in Naubatpur where 4,620 bottles of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) were seized on January 31, 2017. Another is a godown in Ramkrishna Nagar where 4,692 bottles of IMFL were found on October 31, 2016. The third is a piece of land in Fatua where 4,745 IMFL bottles were found on May 1, 2017. The fourth is a house from where three bottles of IMFL were seized on November 22, 2016.

"We are also in process of auctioning vehicles seized for transporting liquor and attaching other properties," Agarwal said.

A total of 22 such vehicles will be auctioned on November 6 at the Miller High School ground at 10:30am.
