Patna: Bihar Military Police (BMP) commandos and special branch personnel re-deputed to 10 Circular Road after the state government blinked in the row over the reduction of security cover for Rabri Devi and her MLA-sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav are roaming sheepishly outside the home of the RJD first family. Rabri still refuses to let them in.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar had on Thursday reinstated the security cover, but Rabri wants to know why it was reduced. "I will not accept the security cover unless and until I get a reply from the government," the former CM told The Telegraph on Friday.
She went to the Assembly without any security on Friday to file her nomination papers for the Council poll.
"We reached here around 9am from our battalion headquarters at Dehri-on-Sone but we are still waiting outside," said a BMP commando.
Another officer said the security personnel had to go without food and water in the sun. "We don't know when the forces will be allowed inside," the officer said.
A source said the in-charge of the team assigned at 10 Circular Road met DGP K.S. Dwivedi and told him of the problems. An ADG-rank officer said no one wants to comment on record because the issue has snowballed into a political controversy.
On Friday, RJD MLA from Minapur in Muzaffarpur district Rajesh Kumar returned his security in protest.
