Patna, March 30: The BJP is taking no chances in its next electoral battle in Bihar after the rout in the Delhi Assembly elections last month.

The party has decided to rejuvenate its workers first. On April 14, much before the October-November Assembly elections, BJP leaders, including national president Amit Shah and Union minister Rajnath Singh, would connect directly with 1.5 lakh workers.

The state BJP leadership hopes that a successful mobilisation of workers and cadre would provide a momentum to the poll campaign and set the tone. The party believes this is the best time to rejuvenate the workers.

Focusing on its support base, the party has decided send out invites to workers and cadres for the meet. Three senior workers from each booth would be invited to the rally. In Bihar, there are around 60,000 polling booths.

BJP MLC Lal Babu Prasad, who is looking after arrangements at the workers' meet, said: "Invitation cards would be sent to three senior booth-level workers, urging them to participate at the meet."

Sources said this is the first time that the party has decided to invite workers at a meet by sending them invitation cards. On earlier occasions, workers were asked to participate in such functions on instructions of the district, block and panchayat heads of the party.

A senior state BJP leader said: "The workers' meet assumes importance, as cadre strength determines a party's win or loss. Through the workers' meet, the party wants to rejuvenate its supporters as it did during the last Lok Sabha polls."

Apart from the invitation cards, tents would be set up on an area of 4 lakh sqft inside Gandhi Maidan for the convenience of the workers. In mid-April, the day temperature is usually high.

For seating arrangement, there would be carpets, while water pouches would be made available. Food packets would be distributed by MLAs and MLCs, while accommodation would be arranged for at MLAs flat and Gandhi Maidan.

Apart from Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, all senior BJP leaders from the state and union ministers from Bihar in the Narendra Modi cabinet would address the meeting.

Sources said a frontal offensive against chief minister Nitish Kumar and the JDU regime would be launched. Also in line of fire would be the Dal's opportunistic tie with the RJD. The BJP president and the home minister would list out the future programmes and functions of the party before the Assembly election.
