Patna, May 30: After a delay in announcing the Class XII results, CBSE Class X students, too, fear a same fate.
There is a considerable confusion whether the CBSE would declare the result in Patna region with rest of the country at the same time or not.
As far as dates for announcing the results are concerned, CBSE officials are making varying statements. On one hand, officials in the Delhi office are trying to avoid talking on the issue the officials in the Patna regional office are confused over the result date.
On the other hand, a few websites say that the expected date for CBSE results is May 31, 2011 for Delhi, Guwahati, Allahabad, Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula. The website cbseresults.nic.in says that the Chennai region results will be declared on May 31.
Contrary to their previous statement that CBSE Class X results across the country would be declared by May 31, the officials are now saying the results might be delayed and are likely to be announced by June 10.
Deputy secretary, CBSE Patna region, K.K. Jain told The Telegraph: “CBSE Class X results will be declared by June 10. However, there is no clarity on whether the results would be declared across the country or not.”
Sources said CBSE had this year introduced the system of school-based SA-2 (Summative Assessment) and board-based SA-2 in Class X examination.
Most of the students had opted for school-based SA-2 and not much was left for Patna regional office to do. Under school-based SA-2, almost all work had been done by the schools, right from conducting the examination at home centres to evaluation of answer papers and declaring the result.
In Class XII results, students and parents claim that CBSE regional office has done average marking in mathematics and English papers in many cases.
The school authorities are quite tensed about the results since students keep calling them regarding the date of the announcement of the results.
Amit, a Class X student said: “The delay in declaring the date is hampering my career since I have to move out and the institute is asking for the original mark sheet. My friends are also facing the same problem.”
Kumari Anju, whose child has appeared for Class X examinations said: “The delay in CBSE Class X results is creating problems for all of us. My child is quite tensed as he does not know when and which school he would get admission. My child is taking coaching for IIT but the fact cannot be ignored that school syllabus is equally important and if not finished in time then problems will arise.”
Another guardian Amitabh, whose daughter has taken the examinations this year said: “The delay in CBSE Class X results is creating problems for all of us.”
