Motihari, June 26: Twenty-four hours after a Class IV student of DAV Public School, Motihari, went missing, police are clueless about his whereabouts.

Pujesh Kumar (12), son of PACS (Primary Agriculture Co-operative Society) chairman of Siswa East panchayat, went missing from his Kuwari Devi Chowk residence on Saturday afternoon.

The father of the boy, Suresh Yadav, has filed an information petition at the Town police station about his son’s disappearance but has not accused anyone of abduction.

Suresh is also a vehicle stand contractor under the civic body. His wife, Anita Devi, is a former district board member of the same panchayat.

According to the information petition, Pujesh left his house around 3pm to play with his friends on Saturday. He did not return home till the filing of this report.

Suresh told The Telegraph over phone that his son had been abducted by some people with ulterior motives.

“My son has been abducted by some people because of either professional rivalry (contract of stand under Nagar Parishad area) or political reasons (either associated with him or his wife).”

On being asked why he filed only an information report and not a proper complaint, he said: “If my son doesn’t return in a day or two I will divulge the names of the suspected persons before the police.”

He, however, refused to disclose the names of the suspected abductors immediately.

Inspector-cum-station house officer of Town police station Anant Kumar Singh confirmed an information petition had been filed by Suresh but said in absence of any suspicion towards anyone, the police were at a loss about how to recover the missing boy.

Pujesh’s disappearance comes two days after a 10-year-old boy, Sonu Kumar, was rescued by the police from the captivity of his abductors from Tajpur village in Chhapra district.

Four persons, including a cousin of the victim, were arrested for hatching the kidnap plot.

The police said Sonu was traced based on the information given by the cousin, Rajesh Chauhan, during interrogation.

The family had received calls demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh.
