Bhagalpur, Dec. 20: JD(U) MLA from Belhar Giridhari Yadav on Thursday demanded speedy trial in the Suia gang rape incident and sought action against police personnel for allegedly trying to suppress the case.

He has requested the government to take care of the victim, a Class X student, and her family members.

Yadav told The Telegraph over phone on Thursday: “The incident occurred within 1km of Suia police outpost but police were unaware of it. When the case came to light, they tried to suppress it instead of taking action. Not a single officer is in the mood to take action against the erring cops. But I will raise my voice to ensure that culprits are brought to book.”

Prime accused Koushar Ansari was arrested in New Delhi on Wednesday.
