Funds to the tune of Rs 2,800 crore would be disbursed among 2 crore government school students as part of welfare schemes.
The funds under the schemes of the education department, Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe welfare department, Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class welfare department and minority welfare department would be disbursed.
From January 15 to 30, the education department would organise camps at the school-level where the benefits of the schemes would be disbursed among students in the presence of school representatives, education department officials and people’s representatives.
Education minister P.K. Shahi said: “The idea behind disbursing funds among students through camps in the presence of local representatives and parents is to bring transparency in welfare schemes.”
