Motihari, Dec. 25: Not just national media, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) winner Sushil Kumar has become a darling of international media channels too. After a UK-based channel, which airs Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, BBC Hindi radio too has decided to produce a programme on Sushil Kumar and his life.

The programme (in interview format) is likely to be aired on New Year eve.

Sushil has reached the national capital to take part in the programme. Before leaving for Patna, Sushil told The Telegraph that BBC Hindi office has invited him for an extensive interview on Monday evening. The programme is likely to be broadcast on the evening of December 31.

Sushil also shared his plan to fulfil the commitments he had made on the sets of KBC. “I am in talks with a Mumbai-based NGO. I will try my best to fulfil the larger parts of the commitments I made on the KBC sets before Bachchanji regarding women education as well as free computer literacy for the poor and intelligent children I know,” he said.

“I have been a witness to the adversities and poverty that blocked the growth route of several intelligent and deserving students. They could have had a bright career but were forced to give up their studies midway either to sell groundnut near cinemas, bus stands and court premises or become a help in roadside hotels and tea stalls,” said Sushil.

“Now I want to help them because I have the financial strength,” he said.

Speaking about the UK channel programme Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, which had earlier proposed a documentary on his life, Sushil said the producers have already sought permission for the same from the KBC organisers. He said the Sony TV management had informed him that the final date and time of the visit of the UK channel crew would be intimated to him soon.

Thanking god for his achievement, Sushil said: “I am an honest and god-fearing man. He has been the real power behind my every belief and action. Every morning after my bath, I pray to the Sun God Lord Hanuman,” he said.
