Patna, Jan. 11: A criminal today drowned in a pond at the Challa Road area under Alamganj police station, while his associate was arrested.

The police said four criminals were on the run and the cops had received a tip-off about them. “When the cops chased the gang, two of them sped away on their bike and the other two entered the Challa Road area. One of them, identified as Dheeraj, who had come from Ludhiana five days ago, jumped into a pond.

Dheeraj’s body was fished out and brought to the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital. His peer, Tanveer, was arrested, the police added.
