CONTACT BATTLE: Jagadanand Singh (second from right), close confidant of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, went to meet people at Sultanpur village in Buxar, his former Lok Sabha constituency, on Tuesday.
If the BJP has launched its Sampark for Samarthan campaign aimed at meeting personalities across India to highlight the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, so has the RJD.
It has launched the Gram Jan Samvad Yatra, during which former MP Singh attacked BJP leaders. He said the BJP was meeting known faces while the RJD was meeting every person in the villages.
"We are not using air conditioned vehicles to meet people, we are roaming in the scorching heat and are least bothered about media attention. So far, I have covered around 60 villages and you will be surprised to know that I did not forget the faces of people whom I had met a few years ago," said Singh.
"Our aim is to establish a relation with the people. You have to visit these villages to understand how the farmers and poor people are in pain under Narendra Modi."
