Patna, June 9: The Class X results Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students of Patna region will be declared on June 10, almost 25 days late from the date the results were scheduled to be announced.

This is the first time that the CBSE would declare the results for the 2009-11 session, including the marks of all the internal assessments held in classes IX and X.

CBSE will also replace marks with grades just as it did last year. Students will be graded in all the subjects and cumulative grade point average (CGPA) would be mentioned on their mark sheet.

No student can score more than 95 per cent marks and the schools most likely would have many toppers.

Principal of a school said a student would be graded A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D and E in each subject. A1 will be given to those who score 91 to 100, A2 for marks from 81 to 90, B1 is for 71 to 80 marks, B2 for 61 to 70 marks, C1 is for marks from 51 to 60 and C2 41 to 50 marks. D stands for 33 to 40 marks while E is below 33, which signifies “fail”.

This year the CBSE introduced the system of school-based SA-2 and board-based SA-2 (Summative Assessment-2) for senior secondary schools.

Students who opted for school-based SA-2 were to continue with the same school and CBSE in Class XI, whereas those who opted for board-based SA-2 were supposed to leave the school and the board.

However, chairman of CBSE Vineet Joshi on his Patna visit last year had clarified that a child who wants to change his mind can do so but priority will be given to those who stick to their decision.

The CBSE had introduced the scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and grading system at secondary stage from the 2009-10 academic session.

However, the Maharashtra government told the CBSE this year that it would consider the marks during admissions in Class XI in CBSE-affiliated schools. The board is giving marks to all its affiliated schools in Maharashtra. To help students applying from outside Maharashtra, four schools have been identified as guidance centres.
