Patna boy Sharad Vivek Sagar will attend the Nobel Prize ceremony in Oslo this December on the invitation of a Norwegian telecom company.

The Nobel Peace Centre, in collaboration with telecom enterprise Telenor, had invited applications from youth leaders from across the world in June. Sharad, the founder of Dexterity Global, is one of the 26 youth leaders selected for the event.

Delhi-based environmental engineer Paridhi Rustogi has also been invited for the event from India.

The ceremony is on December 10.

Sharade, 24, will attend the ceremony and participate in events honouring this year's Nobel Peace prize recipient Juan Manuel Santos, the President of Colombia.

Sharad will work with the Nobel Peace Centre and fellow invitees to design solutions to attain the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

"I am excited about participating in the event," Sharad told The Telegraph. "The Nobel Peace Centre felicitates people who have remarkable achievements in their field. I would be able to see stalwarts being felicitated up close. I want to soak in the moment."

Sharad, who pursued a four-year undergraduate course on international relations and diplomacy from Tufts University, Boston, has been back in Patna since May this year.

He added that participating in the event would help him learn about the motivating work taken up by youth leaders across the world apart from sharing his own story and ideas.

Sharad considers his participation in the Nobel Peace prize ceremony special because he draws inspiration regarding his community mobilisation projects from Nobel laureates such as Bangladesh social entrepreneur Muhammad Yunus who was awarded the Peace prize in 2006, Mother Teresa and Rabindranath Tagore.

Dexterity Global - that creates learning and leadership opportunities for students - will keep Sharad busy late December as the social enterprise, which has got the youngster lot of accolades over the years, will organise the yearly programme "Dexterity to College" at St Xavier's College in Patna from December 26-31.

The programme will help students prepare for getting admissions into the world's topmost universities, and Dexterity Global will fund the college fees, passport and accommodation of the students.

"Forty students from across Bihar have been selected for Dexterity to College this time," said Sharad. "Tanay Rohtagi, a student of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Snehal Nawal from Texas A&M University will be among the mentors at this year's programme."
