The district administration has ordered traffic diversions and restricted movement of vehicles on different routes for Chhath devotees. Movement of heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses and tractors will be restricted on November 6 and 7, while on many routes there will be one-way traffic.
Traffic restrictions have also been ordered at Gandhi Setu
On Sunday from 2pm to 5pm, there will be one-way traffic at Gandhi Setu with vehicles from the southern side (Patna) to the northern side (Hajipur) allowed to move. Similarly, on the same day from 5pm to 7pm, vehicles from the northern side (Hajipur) to southern side (Patna) will be allowed. Similar restriction will be on Monday too. From 2am to 5am vehicles from Patna side will be allowed to pass through Gandhi Setu, while on the same day vehicles from the northern side (Hajipur) to the southern side (Patna) will be allowed to pass.
Das said: "Vehicles entering ghats will be allowed to return from ghats only after Arghya is offered. There will be around 100 watch towers at Patna ghats and some of the big ghats will have three to four watch towers. NCC cadets and cops in civil dress will be deployed at different ghats and roads to manage traffic."
