Patna: Nitin Neera Chandra has come up with yet another Chhath video which is a sequel of last year's hit song.

The theme of the song is that the family tradition must not get over and it has all the elements which can make people emotional and attached to Bihar's biggest festival. Produced under the banner of Champaran Talkies-NeoBihar-Jaiom Productions, the song signifies the importance of the festival.

Last year, Bihar Kokila Sharda Sinha had lent her voice for the video. This year, Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik and folk singer Bharat Sharma 'Vyas' have sung.

Last year lyrics were Pahile Pahel Chhathi Maiya and this year's lyrics are Kabahuna chhooti chhati maiya hamani se baarte tohaar (we can never give up your festival, Oh mother Chhathi Goddess). The seven-minute video stars Kranti Prakash Jha, the actor who was seen playing the helicopter shot in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Kristine Zedek.

While Kranti plays a migrant from Bihar, Kristine plays a Punjabi girl. Neetu Neera Chandra and Vishal Dube have produced the song while Nitin is the director of the video. Ashok Sheopuri is the lyricist.

Nitin said: "In last year's Chhath video,Ruchika (Kristine's character) had volunteered to perform Chhath Puja after Kranti's mother said no one was performing Chhath at their home that year and hence the tradition would end. In this year's song, Ruchika has been shown as an eight-month-expectant woman but she still willing to perform Chhath so that the tradition doesn't end. But Kranti puts an end to the discussion saying he will never go against the doctor's advice. But then he surprise everyone by performing the puja himself."

The message is the same as last year: Ghar ke parampara khatam nahi honi chahiye (family tradition must not get over).

As director Nitin has already made his mark in the film industry because for the first time that a film from Bihar, Mithila Makhaan, had got the National Award. The film was selected in the regional language category and won Best Maithili Film in the 63rd National Film Awards. Even in that film Kranti was the lead actor.

On the reason for making such videos, Nitin who has also made films like Deswa, he said: "People in Bihar have started following the cultures of other states like dandiya and celebrating festival like Ganesh Utsav which is fine but what about our own state festival? I feel that people are going far away from their own culture and tradition. So through this video, I have tried to connect people with their festivals and traditions. Another message through this song is why everything should be done by women, even men can do it."

Neetu, too, reacted to the new Chhath song and said: "We as Champaran Talkies and NeoBihar are committed towards bringing the best of Bihar to the world and represent Bihar's culture, festival and language on a global platform in the most respected and decorated way which no one else has ever presented in the past."
