Patna: Patna district magistrate Kumar Ravi and Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj asked officials to be on alert three days before the proposed human chain, for which Gandhi Maidan is the venue.
The senior officers made the announcement during a joint briefing to police personnel and magistrates, who will be deputed during the human chain programme, at Gyan Bhavan. Ravi said it would be the duty of officers on human chain duty to ensure no untoward incidents take place.
"Every officers and government employee has to display perfection. There has to be complete discipline on the road. Teachers have to ensure children are not roaming freely on the road, or there could be accidents," Ravi said.
The targeted size of the chain in Patna district is 588 km and 15.8 lakh people are expected to turn out, district administration officials said. The chain will stretch 170km on the main road, 256km on the sub-route and 162km on other roads.
Ravi categorically said there was no chance of any mistake. He also said it would be the duty of the sector in-charge, area in-charge, block development officers (BDOs), circle officers (COs), child development programme officers and coordinator to ensure 110 per cent preparations.
"Every fourth person in Patna would be on the road that day and there is no chance of any mistake. You have to keep yourself prepare from all the angles. If there is crowd on one line, shift them elsewhere. Even one mistake will have a cascading effect on the entire human chain," Ravi said.
